Ensure Accurate Load Cell Calibration

Accurate load cell calibration requires a documented, repeatable process tied to traceable measurement standards. Micro Precision receives each instrument, inspects it for physical condition, applies known force references across the calibration range, adjusts output where necessary, and issues a certificate of calibration documenting as-found and as-left measurement data.

Our calibration process follows these steps for every instrument:

  1. Receive and inspect: the instrument is logged, inspected for physical damage, and prepared for testing
  2. As-found measurement: the load cell is tested at defined force intervals using NIST-traceable reference standards, and pre-adjustment readings are recorded
  3. Adjustment: where readings fall outside acceptable tolerance, the instrument is adjusted to bring output into specification
  4. As-left measurement: post-adjustment readings are recorded to document final calibrated performance
  5. Documentation: a certificate of calibration is issued with full measurement data, reference standard traceability, and calibration date
  6. Return: the calibrated instrument is returned with its certificate of calibration

Our Calibration Options

Micro Precision offers two load cell calibration delivery modes: in-lab calibration at one of our accredited facilities, and on-site calibration performed at your location by accredited technicians. Both options produce a NIST-traceable certificate of calibration. Rush service is available for time-sensitive calibration requirements.

In-Lab Calibration
Ship your load cells to the nearest Micro Precision accredited calibration facility for service under controlled laboratory conditions. In-lab calibration is suited for portable sensors, bench-scale force transducers, and instruments that can be safely transported without risk of damage or misalignment. Our lab network spans more than 50 locations, keeping transit times and turnaround short.

On-Site Calibration
Micro Precision technicians travel to your facility to calibrate load cells in place. On-site service is the preferred option for permanently installed force measurement systems, high-capacity structural test cells, and platform or floor scale assemblies where removing the sensor creates downtime or re-zeroing risk.
